As you can see, as well as the famous Spanish Steps just a few away from the hotel, a fifteen minute walk will take you to the world's most important archaeological site, The Roman Forum, where you can take a tour (arranged by the hotel staff) or simply wander around on the very stones whereon walked Mark Antony, Cleopatra, even Julius Caesar himself over two thousand years ago. Overlooking the Forum is the site of numerous emperors' palaces, The Palatine Hill, with the Colosseum in the backdrop.
The Vatican City is a slightly longer walk west or a short metro journey from Spagna to Ottaviano.
For culture and nightlife, Piazza Navona and Campo De' Fiori are short walks away, as is the charming district of Trastevere, where you can find a treasure under every cobblestone in restaurants, trattorias, bars and late night boutiques. Alternatively for a more down to earth cultural experience, simply sit on the Spanish Steps and watch Roman nightlife unfold before your eyes.
How to get here:
The most convenient form of transport from the airport is the Hotel's Shuttle Service, which is cheaper and safer than a taxi. If coming by public transport, a train service runs from Leonardo Da Vinci Airport and a bus service runs from Ciampino airport, both arriving at Roma Termini, the central train station. From here, Spagna is just 3 short metro stops away and the hotel is a few minutes walk from the metro station.
